2026 EVENT COMING SOON!
This August, the Hoops 4 Her team is traveling back to Kenya for our annual Basketball & Empowerment Camp at Moi University. After the impact of our 2025 camp, we’re excited to welcome even more girls this year with better equipment, expanded programming, and more opportunities for growth- both on and off the court. Since last summer, the women’s basketball team at Moi University has continued training and mentoring many of the same girls from our 2025 camp, helping them build their skills and confidence as we prepare for an even bigger 2026 camp. If you want to contribute, click on the link below to donate and follow our journey on instagram!
2025 EVENT
Last summer, Hoops 4 Her launched its first every event in Eldoret, Kenya. The week-long camp was hosted at Moi University and coached by members of their women's basketball team. We had over 50 campers, and 6 teachers that participated in camp activities. The camp provided basketball training, competition games, and educational/empowerment sessions. Each girl left with a certificate, exposure to a local university, new friendships, and increased self-confidence. We sent each school back with basketballs to continue practicing and developing. Moi University also plans to host training sessions for these campers at their facility to help continue their growth. We are returning to Kenya to recreate this camp again this summer!

2025 + 2026 TEAM
Coaches

We were grateful to have players from Moi University's Women's Basketball team help coach and mentor the girls during this camp. Their team competes in local and national tournaments, including the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA). They play an important role in promoting women’s sports and inspiring young female athletes in Kenya.
Coordinators

Global Health Innovations (GHI) in Narobi, Kenya, is a nonprofit organization that develops and implements innovative solutions to prevent and treat HIV and cervical cancer. GHI has partnered with the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kenya for over a decade. GHI will work with Hoops 4 Her to recruit female students for the camp and facilitate transportation and camp logistics.
Educators

We are lucky to be partnering with the Pangea Network! A Kenyan Pangea instructur will facilitate the Hoops 4 Her camp's educational sessions on leadership, healthy communication, goal setting, and more!
Facility

Our 2025 basketball camp took place at Moi University's basketball facility. Moi is a public university known for its work in science and technology, and has partnered with GHI and the University of Kansas Medical Center. We are thankful to be able to use their gym space and partner with their basketball players.
